#20 Appreciation: Volunteers

UNICEF, Breast Cancer Council, Red Cross and more...
These are the NGOs that we are familiar with. At times, you know them not through any events, but merely because of the volunteers that have been pro-actively approaching people to persuade them to help out in the cause that they deeply believed in.

All volunteering act is worth appreciating, but I like to dedicate this utmost respect to those volunteers who not only physically present to help out in events and fundraising, but also on the street to create awareness and to get more people on board. Despite all the cold shoulder that they have been getting, they still take up the courage to continue approach people, talk to them, to relate to the public and hopefully influence them to join and support the noble cause.

I used to be in university society and responsible for members recruitment. I am required to constantly talk to a by-passer, who usually end up saying "No, Thank You.". It is more easier to do that compare with those NGOs, as we can promote the opportunities the society offer, rather than asking them to provide financial support. I understand the difficulties of doing, hence, hats off to these NGOs' volunteers for their perseverance and courages.
